Seven Soldiers

The art in this issue and the two after it is by an artist named Simone Bianchi.

Other than this, my primary context for knowing Simone Bianchi, have you ever read Grant Morrison's Seven Soldiers? No, I have not.

jots down in big notebook labeled next podcast series.

But yeah, in that sort of meta series, which is like a collection of parallel mini series, Simone Bianchi did the shining night.

And then, and another one...

I'm sure Ben has plenty too, but another one I always liked, which is not quite the same thing, but is similar, was, like, Seven Soldiers of Victory.

Mm-hmm.

This idea that you would, you'd be reading a meta-narrative, but also get these very distinct visual and narrative experiences while telling this l-larger story.

Yeah

... did you, did you draw on any inspirations for this as well?

Multiversity is similar in the s- you know, same writing, same writer.

This is somewhat dubious, however, since Darkseid's own father willed the anti-life equation and could use it to resurrect the dead.

During Grant Morrison's Seven Soldiers event series...

He translated the anti-life equation as additional retcons render the equation as something more akin to a summoning spell, which manifests primordial shadow creatures.

These creatures were first seen in Jim Starlin and Mike Mignola's 1988 prestige format miniseries Cosmic Odyssey.
