WZA Socal Preview - J.R. Howell and Seth Page

It's just like when you program for Wadapalooza, the different events, different stages, Dylan would have as a programmer, you would understand this.
S
3:44Seth PageGUEST
It would start like his thought process in terms of creating workouts would be so specific to those events that sometimes it's hard to think broader and then bring it in to make it fit.
S
4:01Seth PageGUEST
It's a simple thing to say, but I think as your thought process goes, now you can kind of start fresh and have this open look at it and say, okay, fresh eyes, new perspective.

World Fitness Project - Aimee Cringle vs Laura Horvath

just like everything yeah nervous everything you can think about they get two attempts per thing and it's all laser triggered so if like you fall start or fall forward like that's going to trigger your laser and that's an attempt so they're not going to like blow a horn and make you go you go whenever you want and when you trigger the laser your time starts So everyone's going to be going and like, uh, I don't want to call it a free for all, but like they have like groups that'll be able to go.
S
10:12Seth PageGUEST
You go to your starting line, you tell your judge who you are, they check you in.
S

And when you take off, the laser will time you or the, yeah, on, on both of the agility and the, and the sprint.
Debate Is Back - Souza Hobart and Page

And what I think would happen is if somebody had enough balls to come take this production on, they'd probably come with a whole lot of financing too, whether it be other partner sponsors that are coming in on it or whatever.
S
7:46Seth PageGUEST
So I think you would actually see a even more heavily produced, hyped up version of the Games season first, which I think would actually drive a lot of people to be excited about what's new, what they're offering.
S
7:59Seth PageGUEST
Maybe the prize purse is bigger because they have more new sponsors coming into the space.
S
8:04Seth PageGUEST
However, like Souza said, it would be very tough to keep that magic going for a long period of time without having that connectivity to the affiliates and the members that are gonna flood this, you know, this funnel that feeds into the Games.

the next one is restic- restrict athletes to only one in-person semifinals event.
S
31:04Seth PageGUEST
So make it feel a bit more like regionals even though it's not regionals, and with the field being cut, basically, again, very rough idea, but if you qualify in that top 400, 500, whatever it is, based on how many live slots we know we'll have available based on what semifinals are signed up to participate, athletes could do a kinda like a ranked choice almost, like they, like we did in the past a few years back, where they say, "Hey, you know, I wanna go to Mayhem, I wanna go to Syndicate, I wanna go to NorCal." And CrossFit can collect that, easily compile lists, and then send those lists off to the, the, uh, semifinal hosts.
S
31:40Seth PageGUEST
The hosts can take those lists of people who are interested, who are actually qualified, and decide who they'd like to invite or how they wanna choose to fill their slots.
S
31:49Seth PageGUEST
And they'll know who's interested in attending, and then once they get confirmation of who's gonna attend, who registers, whatever, then those slots start to get locked up, and those athletes will have to make those decisions as to where they're going to compete to have their shot at the games.
S
32:04Seth PageGUEST
And now they can talk amongst themselves and try to figure stuff out, but they won't really know how, uh, how many slots their semifinal's going to get until the rosters are locked.
S
32:12Seth PageGUEST
And once the rosters are locked, depending on how strong or weak your field is, you can then assign those slots based on who shows up at tho- or who's planning to show up at those events.
