Servite High School

We spotlight outstanding Southern California high school football.

Your top three games, Orange Lutheran at Mater Dei, St. John Bosco at Servite.

You've got J. Sarah at Santa Margarita.

That's according to Max Preps.

away again, and the Cowbell balls are two strikes.

Mike Witt trying to pitch the Angels to the pennant, and what a thrill it would be for him in so many ways, including the fact he went to high school at Servite High in Anaheim, which is very close to Anaheim Stadium.

Got fisted, grounded down a second, and with Briggs moving toward the ball, it's Witt again who covers first base.

So Bobby looks good on one play, then some confusion on the other, but he's bailed out by Witt.

And we'll talk a little bit more at the playoff talk at the end with Scotty, and maybe we'll get in a little bit to some of the questions I was raising about how good Santa Margarita is.

All right, Scotty, let's go to the game that you were at, and that was modern-day 38, Servite 15.

So this improved the Monarchs to 6-2.

Overall, 2-1 in the Trinity League, so they're tied with St. John Bosco and Orange Lutheran at 2-1.

And for Servite, they drop to 3-5, 0-3 in league.

A little bit of a tale of two halves in this one, where Mater Dei led 14-9 at the break, and then winning the second half 24-6.

Some interesting things.

One trend that's coming up with Servite is they're trying to play a lot of ball control.

He is from Servite, one of the best programs in California, also the program where quarterback Leo Hannan came from.

But Alan Kennat, he is a top 15 linebacker.

He has visited Nebraska, also Texas, and Notre Dame.

But we just saw Orange Lutheran go to St. John Bosco and get their shot at the Braves.

Some big happenings, some developments with Mater Dei, some injury problems with Servite, and the list goes on.

How you doing tonight?

I'm doing pretty good, Dan.

You know, for the season, he's got 23 catches for 434 yards and five touchdowns.

And so he's been pretty consistent.

You know, he had a very big game against Servite.

You know, we talked about that one last week, right?
