Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance

Let me give you a little bit, and your viewers, a bit of a hack, like a trick about life insurance with respect to service.

Okay, so when you're serving, you've got Serviceman's Group Life Insurance, SGLI.

It's a great program.

Keep it, don't reduce it.

Oh, absolutely, yeah.

And it's vital.

Now, spouses have some coverage through SGLI, same way, you know, Spousal SGLI.

And it's the same kind of thing.

OK, so, for example, when you are in the military.

Service Members Group Life Insurance, SGLI, okay? Currently up to $500,000 of life insurance covered.

It's automatically taken out of your pay.

If you don't want it, you have to like fight tooth and nail and get $20 million, $20 million.

And it exists specifically to give survivors immediate financial assistance while all the longer term benefits are processed.

Okay.

Now this is in addition to SGLI and the other benefits.

Okay.

Their family doesn't get death benefits the same way that somebody in combat does.

They get like a $400,000 SGLI, whether you die in combat.

Well, they usually have

programs that are set aside to compensate for, you're talking about like essentially like black ops, right? Places where we are, where we're not supposed to be.

There's not much of a difference.

It's just the fact that there are benefits and she's not getting them, which I got it.

But $400,000 SGLI, you're getting that.

And the only way you don't get that is the S word.
