A common trap for candidates who recently passed the Series 7 is treating all four test sections equally or spending the majority of study time reviewing investment vehicles like options, municipal bonds, and mutual funds.

Because candidates feel confident in product knowledge from the Series 7, spending hours restudying products creates a false sense of security while leaving the heavily weighted state law section underprepared.

But here's where the Series 7 likes to make you think.

Statutory and cumulative, know the difference in the blitz.

Statutory voting goes director by director.

We are covering customer account restrictions, specifically focusing on free writing and frozen accounts for the Series 7 exam.

This area is frequently tested through scenario-based questions, so understanding the mechanics is critical.

The foundation of these rules is Federal Reserve Board's Regulation T, which governs the extension of credit by broker-dealers.

They just weren't settled yet.

Whereas in free riding, the customer never had the funds to begin with.

For the Series 7, the most heavily tested concept here is the direct line from the free riding violation to the 90-day freeze.

A helpful mnemonic to remember this is, if you take a free ride, you'll do 90 days inside.

This links the violation directly to its specific 90-day penalty, helping you cut through trick answer choices on the exam.

You had to get licensed to do that.

So I had to get a Series 7 license.

So I got my Series 7 license.

I think when I was 16, somewhere around there.

And I was able to put a couple thousand dollars down and got some extended leverage and started trading.
