Mm-hmm.

And R.I.P Sergeant Howie, just to throw that out there.

Yeah.

Yeah

... too, right? 'Cause you have this uptight guy from out of town, and I, I can't say enough about how great Edward, Edward Woodward is as Sergeant Howie.

He is brilliant as this man who is just trying to do his job and does not understand- ... why all of these people who tenuously live within the same, like, cultural paradigm he does, or at least he thinks that.

He's like, "Yeah, you're part of the United Kingdom.

Yeah.

Because he is, he is really d- like, especially because, and this was pointed out to me by Candace Bailey, uh, who, The Harvest Makes Revenge, uh, and one of the editors of Crossroads Folk Horror, uh, she was talking about the tests that he passes.

Like, that's, that's something that it took me a long time to see in The Wicker Man, is that Sergeant Howie is being put through these tests to see if he is pure of heart.

Yeah.

But our, our main character is played by Edward Woodward and I just called him the equalizer.

No, I call him Howie.

I call him

Howie.

Cause that's his, that's his name.

It's a constable Howie or Lieutenant Howie.

So that's his,

that's his surname.

And he's not going to like what he sees.

yeah so

there's this real reverse psychology that they're playing with him as well because they're saying oh you wouldn't like it what you'll see um we don't like strangers here like we need um like we think you should leave so there's a reverse psychology as well and so he tries to get into his plane his like sea plane he arrived on but it's been sabotaged so he no longer the engine's like gone the or the propeller And it doesn't have any connection to its radio either because he wants to leave the island and then bring back a team of other police officers as well to come in and help him with the investigation.

But he can't leave.

He's stuck.

I'll give a real quick summation of it.

Man, a policeman, Howie is his name, he's coming to this island.

There's this girl, was it Rowan I believe is her name, has been reported as being missing.

He comes to the island to come to find her.

It clearly was in the past a religious town of some sorts, but it's been taken over.

There's like an elite individual there that Christopher Lee plays, who is kind of like the Lord, Lord Summerisle.

Uh, and so from there, Howie is the detective.

He's a Christian man.

Uh, I'll give a quick, a real quick, uh, summation of it.

Um, man, a policeman, Howie is his name.

He's coming to this, uh, this, uh, island.

There's this girl.
