Sergeant Charles Zim

You know, he did that little like, oh, surprise at the end with Johnny being Filipino.

He also does a weird surprise with it being Sergeant Zim that catches the brain bag because he he has Johnny come into command.

Then he ends up.

you know commanding this unit even though he's you know still in training and stuff and they tell him that they're gonna give him the best sergeant in the fleet or something like that and they never say who it is and then the sergeant disappears down a bug hole and they try and rescue him and uh there's this whole thing and then at the very end johnny's like and when he said i had the best sergeant in the fleet he was right because it was my drill instructor from um boot camp and surprise it was zim and he captured the bug and i was just like that seems like a really weird thing to put off as

know i pretty much picture the bugs from the movie but they have claws so that they can squeeze triggers and of course the worker ones have hats straw hats

Yeah, hats and little ID cards.

Even the brain bug, it talks about Sergeant Zim catching it.

I'm actually pulling out my book because it was so weird.

No hanging dong.

You see a guy.

Who c- hair.

I, yeah.

The one guy you might see, like, has a towel around his waist.

It's just like we can't show that.

So I don't know.

They decided that while the novel and Heinlein strongly supported a regime led by a military elite, they would make the film a satiric hyperbole of contemporary American politics and culture.

[laughs]

... uh, Sergeant Charles Zim, uh, their, like, drill, drill instructor-

Drill instructor

... um, go real hard against these dudes

Yeah.

Like, we've got lots of other weapons.

And then Instructor Zim is, like, uh-

Instead of Invader Zim.
