For those of y- you who have not seen Train to Busan, one, get bent, and two ...

Train to Busan is a 2016 Korean film about a workaholic fund manager, Seok-woo, who boards a high-speed train from Seoul to Busan with his young daughter, Su-an.

Basically, it's a guilt trip to make up for him being an absent dad.

That's all we really know about this guy.

And then, so we've got Korean actors, and from our stupid American perspective, I'm not sure how many of these people are stars, but I don't wanna be rude and do disservice to them, so we're gonna give them names.

So Yu Gong portrays Seok-woo, and we're gonna call him Dad, and Yoo Mi-jung plays Seong-kyeong and we're gonna call her Preggers.

So the, and the reason, the, the impetus for this creating nicknames as a sign of respect rather than disrespect is because Sang-hwa, um, who, who plays the Hulkster, his real name is Dong-seok Ma.

But...

One of the things I really appreciated about the movie is the sort of political commentary that comes in when we find out that not only is Seok-woo going through all this, he's at least partially responsible for it through his work.

and so it's you know he's at the beginning of the movie we see him at work and he's talking about dumping stocks or whatever for this like biotech company uh and it's talked about in terms of like oh this is gonna like really hurt the economy um but then it goes on to hurt much more than the economy we find out yeah it's uh you know killing everybody right and he's in the uh bathroom and he takes his phone call from one of his employees co-workers it's not really clear um but that's when he finds us out and he's gone through several train cars and he's killed a bunch of zombies got a bunch of blood literally and metaphorically on his hands um and so he spends like he hangs up the phone after having this revelation and he goes to wash his hands he's trying to wash the blood off of himself and he just can't Yeah, it's a little it's a little heavy handed, but I thought it was, you know, a pretty interesting, very satisfying conclusion to that, even if it's not really the the biggest part of the movie.
