Now, the reason that both Democrats and Republicans sometimes will pander to Native people isn't because we're going to give them votes, not even because we're going to give them money, although we've wasted... ridiculous amounts of money in campaign contributions that buy us nothing.
John CainHOST
45:50
But what it does every time they can, I mean, the president of Seneca nation two weeks ago, hosted a GOP fundraiser for Bruce Blakeman at the Seneca Niagara casino.
John CainHOST
46:04
Why? Because the Democrats are such jerks to us.
John CainHOST
46:08
So he, that was his way of lashing out at Democrats, but that's not a good way to do it.

Marge LauberNARRATOR

24:22
By the way, Election Day is four weeks from today.
Bob LonsberryHOST
24:26
uh four weeks from today but they they're talking about the national politics okay it's very big it's very important and uh who will be the uh republican presidential candidate in uh 2028 seems like uh that's a long way off and not really an issue before us uh right now but uh at any rate um that's that's worth that's what they're talking about and the answer they come up with is well jd vance you know jd vance has to be considered the lead oh yeah jd vance jd vance now here's the thing i like jd vance and i think that he has real potential and promise but i also think he has a resume about this long right um he was an enlisted marine rising to the corporal uh longer than he has been in public office he spent uh barely two years in the united states senate and then he has now spent uh not quite two years as a vice president presumably he'll spend another couple years as vice president um but at this point to be saying oh yeah well jd vance is obviously the choice and you want to go what um what makes you what makes you think so and a little bit that's come into this is jd vance threw some shade over the weekend on ted cruz jd vance criticized ted cruz for seemingly trying to line himself up to run for president potentially in 2028 and it's like hold it why why can't cruz do it i mean i i don't know if i would be too eager to vote for cruz he's got strengths and weaknesses i'm not putting him down um he'd have to shave that damn beard it scares me reminds me of eddie munster but um uh why why couldn't cruz would cruz is a senior republican senator uh very prominent why why wouldn't he be like thinking about that and there'd be nothing he put himself out there who knows how he'd do in the primaries who knows that's why you have primaries but it just is interesting i not to put jd vance down but there are a variety of republicans who are very competent who are very experienced and who have the background that would traditionally prepare them to be you know viable presidential candidates and more significantly if they got the job they could do the job and so uh again i like jd vance a lot but um barely two years as a u.s senator and you know now two years as vice president and i don't want to be a jerk or anything or or tick off the folks who really really really love donald trump but um um i don't know if you know being donald trump's vice president these four years is going to necessarily show jd vance an awful lot uh about how to be you know i'm saying i don't know if i don't know if this is a great uh school he's attending uh right now there's a something called the niagara gazette which is uh it may be ink on paper over in niagara county i don't know but it's a an online news thing uh niagara gazette at any rate it has a big uh headline about a uh uh seneca's protest against bruce blakeman uh out in front of the casino uh seneca niagara and uh no it's like apparently you look at the headlines go oh crap the senecas don't like blakeman and then you read the story and here's what happens bruce blakeman is inside at seneca niagara uh doing a fundraiser and an appearance he was brought there uh by uh uh president jc seneca who's the uh for another couple months i think president of the seneca nation so the president of the seneca nation invites blakeman to the casino to do a fundraiser for him and you have the people inside uh uh senecas and others who are there to support blakeman and you have six people outside the casino who are protesting against it and the newspaper story is about the protesters not the fact that the leader of the seneca nation has endorsed bruce blakeman and it just like you know all this fake news stuff i don't go in for saying that but that's friggin fake news it is a distortion it is a when you tell a a truth uh from such an angle that it dramatically distorts reality it is no longer the truth it is a lie and if you have a casino full of people where they're supporting bruce blakeman and you literally have six out front who are protesting against him the story is not the six it is the several hundred and any news organization that fails to grasp that is not truly a news organization period end of story and and here's the deal i obviously you know uh respect the seneca nation and seneca people but if there's anybody in this state who's got a right to be friggin pissed off at kathy hokel it is members of the seneca nation this year as that new high mark stadium has opened you've had kathy hokel strutting around and all the brand new right off the shelf bills merch she can find telling about how she had to save the bills and build them that stadium and all this other stuff well um that's a real pretty story kate it just doesn't happen to be friggin true who paid for the stadium who put the money in to make that stadium possible it was it was the senecas kathy had them over a barrel she took 418 million dollars away from the senecas and she used that to pay new york's share of the money for the stadium now the the state taxpayer had to put in uh another the state put in a total of 600 million but 418 million of that was taken directly from the senecas So, uh, on a ratio of more than four to one, it was Seneca money, not New York State taxpayer money that paid for that, uh, uh, stadium.

30:50
And yet, as she's there posting all her things about, "Look at me, I saved the Bills.
Bob LonsberryHOST
30:55
I saved the Bills." No, what you did was you beat holy hell out of the Senecas, and you took a whole buttload of money that really was theirs, and you, uh, put it on that stadium and declared yourself a hero, right? Robbing the Indians to pay the Bills isn't exactly a noble undertaking.
