Self-Portrait in Black and White

It's such a good question.

And it's something that I've thought about and talked about quite a lot, especially in my previous book, Self-Portrait in Black and White, which was making sense of my own time here and becoming a father here and thinking about the color line.

And really juxtaposing American and French approaches to multiculturalism and to race.

So these book parties in Paris, the typical attendees will be, I think in my experience, almost uniformly to the left of their counterparts in America.
