I just felt like Onimusha opens it up to a more casual gamer and the way they do that is by the peri windows larger but it's rewards you more for how long you wait so you can parry a bit earlier but when you do the the the scraping blades thing you only get like a tiny benefit to that, but it's still a parry versus if you're very good with your timing, it's a long extended blade scrape and rewards you for being more accurate.

So it's kind of like more of a risk reward system that doesn't demand you have perfect timing, but it benefits you if you try to play that way, which I think is like a really good design approach to make it hardcore and accessible simultaneously.
