Seimone Augustus

Miles' efforts were key for the Lynx as star Napheesa Collier didn't make her season debut until mid-July.

Well, this is interesting.

Frankly, a well-touted, historically great FCS college football coach left his post at Montana and went over to Champaign-Urbana as the defensive coordinator of the Fighting Illini.

I see what Kim Mulkey's trying to do." You trying to get Sylvia Fowles onto the coaching staff.

I think that's what you're trying to do, 'cause that's what you did, that's what you did with, uh, Seimone Augustus.

Okay? You gave her a statue and all of a sudden now she's on the sidelines of LSU.

I'm just saying.

Date and time for her statue reveal down in Baton Rouge are TBD.

Also, if you're wondering about the first female athlete LSU honored with a statue, well, that's fellow hooper Seimone Augustus, who overlapped with Fowles for two seasons at LSU.

The two athletes then teamed up again over a decade later with the Minnesota Lynx, winning two WNBA titles together while on that same team.

Here's hoping their statues will be within throwing distance of each other, so, you know, they can play some witchy, ghostly games together when the sun goes down.

Yep.

They had Lindsay Whalen poi- uh, Hall of Fame point guard, Si- Seimone Augustus, Hall of Fame slashing wing, Maya Moore, uh, Hall of Fame small forward who pl- could play out on the perimeter and shoot threes.

And then they traded for Sylvia Fowles, and guess what? They changed their entire offense to revolve around Sylvia Fowles because she was so dominant.

But the reason that, and Sylvia Fowles was a great player, but the reason that those teams were so entertaining was the guard and wing play.
