Secret Fire

Tom tells the stranger that it's his task to stop the fire and face Sauron, warning him of the dark wizard who came seeking to control magic who now control Rune, having cursed both the land and the people.

Tom tells the stranger that he will find his true name, but only when the vision of your heart is single to the service of the secret fire.

Hmm.

He then tells the stranger to choose.

But I'd like, even for those people who don't know much about the world or Tolkien's works... from his I suppose landing or crash landing with the meteor and him being surrounded by the fire I like how later on it's oh is it Tom Bombadil and he tells the stranger slash Gandalf to serve the secret fire which is something that we then later see in the Fellowship of the Ring with the Balrog so you could argue that there's links there but I think it's very easy in hindsight to say things as well as you're looking back from it but

I like it.

And for some reason, Melkor is like...

I want to find the imperishable flame.

Maybe it's out here in the void, far away from other people.

But it's in him, isn't it? Already? Yeah.

He feels like Iluvatar is ignoring the void.

And he's like, why are you ignoring the void so much? And he's looking for good in all the wrong places.

At this point, he's like, I want to go find the fire, the imperishable flame.

I want to go make stuff.
