So the first rank you will wear as a bandmaster is the rank of staff sergeant, and then you will go to warrant officer.

And whilst you're in that role of the bandmaster, you are the 2IC, so you are the assistant conductor.

You will do conducting, but you are the assistant.

But the idea is that you're learning all the time and you're building up your profile.
