Paul BrookerGUEST
6:09
My concern was that after the goal went in, we just all seemed to drop and seemed to be incapable of... being able to pull ourselves forward anymore.
Paul BrookerGUEST
6:21
And although Sean Longstaff was at fault for not tracking his man back efficiently enough for the goal for the second goal, which he
Ger LynchHOST
6:28
can't.
Ger LynchHOST
6:29
I would have said John Mateo Bellia lets the goal scorer run completely off his shoulder.
Gerry McNameeGUEST
10:43
Do we go to 4-4-2 from three at the back? Do we have more attacking options? Because Baha'i, when he came on, he was a left-back, really.
Gerry McNameeGUEST
10:51
He was playing at the back.
Gerry McNameeGUEST
10:52
And he did lose his man after Sean Longstaff got dispossessed.
Gerry McNameeGUEST
10:56
But Longstaff, I think, possibly deserves a start.
Dave HendrickHOST
7:12
Like, at what point can Newcastle just say goodbye to Jolington? Now, he goes off.
Dave HendrickHOST
7:19
Sean Stewart comes on.
Dave HendrickHOST
7:21
Doesn't really make much difference.
Dave HendrickHOST
7:22
But, you know, you're giving up an hour.
Dave HendrickHOST
10:54
Still no real reason to panic because this is where you were last season.
Dave HendrickHOST
10:59
But definitely questions to be asked about the manager's choices at centre-back and Jolington.
Dave HendrickHOST
11:06
I'm sorry, you've got Sean Stewart and Eladji Bamba sitting on the bench, both of whom are much better than him as central midfielders, better than them as footballers, frankly.
Dave HendrickHOST
11:19
Joe Willock starting over Jacob Ramsey is not something I'd be in favour of, but look, Jacob Ramsey didn't do himself any favours last night, came on in 75.
Dan MoylanHOST
17:30
Yeah,
Bryn LawGUEST
17:31
and the one who did come on and I thought have an impact was Sean Longstaff.
Bryn LawGUEST
17:34
And as he'd done it exactly, very similar circumstances at Bournemouth last year, if anyone was going to come up with the goal, it was going to be Sean Longstaff because he just gave them a bit more drive through them and picked up good positions in and around the penalty area.
Bryn LawGUEST
17:49
A couple of times he wasn't picked out with passes when we could see him screaming for the ball.
Bryn LawGUEST
17:54
So there's a frustration, I'm sure, for him that he could have done that thing again.
Darragh CunninghamHOST
11:41
with a few mistakes as a keeper and as you say James the stakes are very high but I would like to see Trafford now start playing a little bit safer with his feet he nearly got caught out a couple of times and he needs to be a bit smarter now in the short term not get caught out again like that we probably don't need to be taking chances hitting balls into Tanaka from goal kicks you know you've got DCL up front the top header of the ball in the league if you ask me so let's maybe go a little bit more route one on that but I do still see that Team Trafford is an unbelievable keeper, but I just don't want to see any more mistakes.
Darragh CunninghamHOST
12:14
On Rocco, and probably more a bit on Dave Thornton's side, I agree with you, Rocco, yesterday was definitely the players, because, as I say, it was a case of missing chances, and we were on top, and then we allowed the impetus back in, and it was an individual error, or two individual errors, really, if you count Longstaff for the second goal.
Darragh CunninghamHOST
12:28
And Farrakhan cannot legislate for that
Rocco DeanHOST
12:30
at all, in any way, shape, or form.

James WellerHOST
22:35
He's not realising, I think he already knows he needs to use his squad to try and pick apart teams in games, the difficult ones.
James WellerHOST
22:43
There were some changes in the second half.
James WellerHOST
22:45
Longstaff came on.
James WellerHOST
22:46
It kind of felt like we were going to see more of Boyer after that rant last week.
Tom JordanHOST
7:16
that was
Sam DavisHOST
7:17
disallowed, I can't, really remembering them overly testing Petrovic whatsoever I mean they had the ball in semi-dangerous areas which when you've got a narrow margin it's always going to make you worry because look we've got muscle memory against Leeds right but that Sean Longstaff goal when he came on us
speaker_1ADVERTISER
7:34
yeah exactly that's
Sam DavisHOST
7:34
still etched in the brain for me and I could almost picture the scene now of them putting the ball in the net and their fans going away like with limbs and me walking away from Dean Court with another disappointment but But you know what? We kept him out.
AnthHOST
11:30
What was his fucking name again, though?
AlanPANELIST
11:32
Longstaff.
AnthHOST
11:33
Longstaff, yeah.
AnthHOST
11:35
Longstaff came on and finished as their third highest rated player.
AnthHOST
11:40
He was the only one that was coming on.
AnthHOST
11:42
I could see him coming on and
Simon RixHOST
6:17
We were chasing it.
Simon RixHOST
6:18
And again, I think it comes from a similar thing of like Sean Longstaff is looking for an option, isn't he? And then try sort of then looking for a foul and maybe goes back to the tactical genius.
Simon RixHOST
6:30
Yeah.
Simon RixHOST
6:31
conversation where it's like at 1-0 what are the options because he seems like he's you know played his cards with the team selection and then when it came to subs we did something different didn't really work because we lost the width and then it was like well what there wasn't there wasn't another card to play
Gerry McNameeHOST
8:38
Same old, same old.
Gerry McNameeHOST
8:38
Longstaff played well last week.
Gerry McNameeHOST
8:40
He was at fault for the second goal.
Gerry McNameeHOST
8:43
Bahoya, I think he was playing full-back, really, and he lost his man for the second goal when we were chasing it, but he didn't really have a chance.
Gerry McNameeHOST
13:16
That's what we're missing.
Gerry McNameeHOST
13:19
Yeah, Tanaka, stack in that position.
Gerry McNameeHOST
13:23
Or Longstaff, you know, give him a start.
Gerry McNameeHOST
13:25
Keep with Wilson.
Dan MoylanHOST
37:04
the ratings tab I've not got the ratings tab open amateur uh trafford is your lowest starter at 3.95 the subs aaronson obviously bottom stack not much higher up um trafford is just above those two with uh mecha bahoya tanaka just above that long staff then it's james bogle these are all in the fives goodman sanam padu these are all very very much of a much the scores like there's barely so you've got um like tanaka's on 5.18 and you've got muharemovich out in front with 5.89 so there's not a big spread at all everyone's going very lower middle
Chris MackHOST
37:34
interesting that Sean Longstaff is the highest rated sub when it was him that gave the ball away for the second goal
Michael NormantonHOST
37:41
yeah
Chris MackHOST
37:41
yeah
MikeHOST
1:56
It was just, let's just pass it to the other player and let them score.
MikeHOST
1:59
And then Longstaff at the end just got dispossessed so easily and then tried claiming for a free kick and, bam, they counter and score.
CraigHOST
2:10
Well, yeah.
CraigHOST
2:11
I mean, you should always play it at whistle and... that's how i was taught you play to play to the whistle so even if you think it's a foul even if you feel it's a foul just keep going until that whistle goes um and assume it's not a foul but i mean i were a bit aggrieved at that because it were like those those kind of tackles and those challenges were being given the opposite way earlier on in the game so i'm like and and i get Long-staffed frustration, probably thinking, like, come on, ref, you know, you've been giving these all game, so what about now? But that's, like I say, play to the whistle and, you know, don't give it up.

9 MINS LATER

MikeHOST
11:46
Yeah, there's something not ticking, especially going forward.
MikeHOST
11:50
But we will...
MikeHOST
11:51
I'll touch upon those areas when we get to them in the pair ratings, especially Wilson, James and Stack and Longstaff, who all came on.
MikeHOST
12:02
What about Goodmanson, mate? How would you rate him today?
