Sean Fitz

Will Wood decommits and goes to Boston College, and then Penn State offers Boston College quarterback commit Ben Rolap.

So we're going to be joined right now by Sean Fitz, bluewhiteillustrated.com publisher.

Fitz, from a, just reading that sentence, that does not sound like a great Penn State storyline.

Kind of sounds like, did one side get the short end of the flip here? So I guess what's your thought about this development from Penn State recruiting at that quarterback position for this cycle? What do you think about the quarterback situation right now?

Penn State fans think the team is dead in the water, and because things are going poorly, they think all things are going to go poorly in the future because the team is losing on the field.

And so are they the hunter or the hunted during flip season? And I want to try and answer that question as best we can here on the show today when it comes to recruiting with Ryan Snyder and Sean Fitz, our reporters over at BlueWadeIllustrated.com, who know beyond...

the feelings and the vibes what's actually going on when it comes to recruiting and how things are going on the recruiting trail so gentlemen welcome to the show ryan how's everything going in the recruiting land for you

busy right now but that's a that's a good thing right there's a lot going on during the bi-week we expected that um you know as we've discussed i think last week's show or before that you know there's been a lot of where the staff has put a commitment into making this the week they travel and get out and you know that whether that's 2027 or 2028 uh they've already started that uh now penn state is practicing today uh so there will be some people out today but for the most part i think majority of the coaching staff is back john correct me if i'm wrong there but i just know that uh tomorrow and into saturday will be a heavier day recruiting wise kind of like it was yesterday uh when there was no practice and the coaches were out on the road so we'll see some uh you know maybe some visits get mentioned today with uh i know derrick hoosiers out on the road but I would think maybe AZ is too as well, Sean.

Purdue coming up next week.

We'll have full content and coverage for you starting next week.

So for the guys here today, for Ryan Snyder, for Sean Fitz, for Greg Pickle, Nate Bauer, I'm Thomas Frank Carr.

This is BWI Live.

Penn State lost 21-18 to Michigan in Ann Arbor.

I'm Thomas Rankar and I'm here with the regulars Nate Bauer and Sean Fitz for our Sunday recap conversation.

Look ahead, introspective, deep thoughts and what the hell's going on with Penn State football conversation.

Let's just kind of riff and get into it.

Don't go too far.

We're going to have a full bi-week of content, conversation, and insight, look-aheads, all kinds of great stuff during this week eight, I think it is now, reprieve for the Nittany Lions.

So until then, Thomas Reinkart for Sean Fitz and Nate Bauer.

We'll talk to you later.

Ryan Snyder is going to be joining us shortly because there's so much reaction and so much news about recruiting that he is currently on the phone pulling the Adam Schefter on us here.

Sean Fitz joining us today to kick things off.

Fitz, thanks.

It's been a busy week.

We've got the Penn State Tailgate Show coming up for you Saturday afternoon.

It'll be at 1230 at Buffalo Wild Wings in Downtown State College.

I'm Thomas Frank Carr for Ryan Snyder and Sean Fitz.

That's it for BWI Live this week.

Let's start with a focus on Penn State.

As BWI's Sean Fitz reported on Tuesday night, second-year linebacker Alex Tash is now out for the season.

Uh, the Nittany Lion, uh, s- Nittany Lion did not disclose what his injury is, but it is going to n- not allow him to play for the rest of this year.

He, of course, suffered an injury late in 2025 that kept him out of the Pinstripe Bowl and also the early part of preseason warm-up, ramp-up, whatever you wanna call it, spring ball and whatnot, uh, in 2026.

We're here to talk about the factors that led to that, and of course, the bigger pictures that are going to influence the decisions moving forward.

And the best people that I know to do that with, and the best people to do that with are Nate Bauer, BlueWhiteIllustrated.com, Sean Fitz, BlueWhiteIllustrated.com, our senior team here to discuss all the aspects of the loss and what it means for the program.

So you heard them on the instant analysis yesterday.

Last night I gave my thoughts on the post-game show.

Not to paint too bleak of a picture, but join me on Monday, 10:00 AM.

We'll be talking about, uh, this game, wrapping it up and looking ahead at Michigan.

For, uh, Nate Bauer and for Sean Fitz, I'm Thomas Frank Carr.

We'll talk to you then here on the Blue White Illustrated YouTube channel.

As usual on the recruiting show, it is recruiting reporter, Ryan Snyder, here to talk about the list.

And of course, Sean Fitz, recruiting reporter and, uh, football team reporter and front office guy and janitor, I think, as well, doing all kinds of things for Blue White Illustrated, sweeping up.

Uh, how's everyone doing today? Fitz, what's going on?

You simply cannot start slow on a big week like this, and I did so, so I apologize.

We have brought in reinforcements.

Nate Bauer and I did the post-game show not that long ago, and we're here now with Sean Fitz to try and work all this out, figure out what's going on with the team, because we don't really here have a good idea.

So, um, and that's...

You know, like, i- a- admitting when you don't know something I think is half the battle.

Uh, but until then, maybe enjoy your Saturday.

[upbeat music] Do something unf- related to football other than going to blueandwhiteillustrated.com and signing up.

Uh, for Nate Bauer and Sean Fitz, I'm Thomas Rennakar.

We'll talk to you next week.

So they're getting to the quarterback, they just don't have a closer that can get them to the ground.

Speaking of our closer, Sean Fitz joining the show here on the Blue and White Illustrated YouTube channel, uh, to talk about Penn State and Northwestern.

Uh, yeah, uh, he's coming in here to give us the, the final three, uh, good outs in the game.

So Fitz, uh, what do you think of what Penn State needs to do defensively as a, a encore to their almost good enough, almost perfect opportunity, uh, against Wisconsin last week?
