Busy wee place.

I do see houses.

We went on holiday.

It was just up to Seahouses, up to the coast.

We rented a house for the week.

And I remember I got there and I opened my AirPods and there was only one AirPod in there.

But it's not just farmers who use heating oil.

I've driven a few miles further north to the coastal village of Seahouses, where thousands of tourists take boats to the Farne Islands.

The entire village is off mains gas, and it's not hard to find people worried about the coming winter.

At the station, there is nothing.

And yet, being at the heart of the AONB, right next door are the extremely popular tourist locations of Bamburgh with its spectacular castle and Seahouses with its kippers.

Thanks to its lack of trains, facilities or public transport links, this station serves neither.

And frankly, it never will, which is why it has to be closed and replaced by a station further up the line at Belford.

I think this is good.

This is, yeah, this is an example of where you wouldn't be using the hub station kind of design because this needs to be a kind of a bespoke building that fits with the heritage of the area that nods architecturally to the Northumbrian coast and really is a kind of a gateway that the region can be proud of.

Because if we go back to our Transport for England map, we can see at the end one would continue north from Walmouth and the interchange of the East Coast main line to then link with our new station at Belford, having called it Seahouses and Bamburgh.

The N1 would then keep heading north, providing a direct link with Lindisfarne and up to Berwick.
