Seabourn Cruise Line

We work for years in advance before we promote these years in advance.

So we're working with a company that we think might be a good fit for Galapagos for 2029.

And we're certainly looking.

Our Antarctica cruise was so successful.

We'd love to.

go to the Arctic with that same company, Seabourn Cruises, their expedition line.

And we're always open to ideas.

And if you're interested in something we've spoken about, feel free to email me and I start a list when I hear people are interested.

And it was a cut above what I've experienced elsewhere.

Whether that would be true of someone who cruises on Seabourn and Silversea and other luxury lines all the time, I'm not sure.

But yeah, it rung true without being ostentatious.

I love that.

And then I was, just before the pandemic, I was promoted to Director of Operations.

And at that time, that was for Holland America and Seabourn Cruise Lines.

So I was director of marine operations for those two cruise lines.

And then the pandemic just kind of blew everything up.

We were a Holland America group, so we were with Princess, P&O Australia.

So I was focused on Holland America and Seabourn, and I had a peer who was Princess and P&O Australia.

When the pandemic happened, it just went crazy.

And there were things happening every day that would be considered a scale 10 emergency in normal times.

It's this new luxury cruise line.

I'm like, Seabourn.

And they said, how do you know? I'm like, well, don't ask me how I know.

And we ended up going on the same ship where we were supposed to go with Harding.

Seabourn Quest.

Can you imagine? That

is crazy.

Now, the other company, I said there were two plus an extra.

The other company that offers this kind of itinerary is Seabourn.

And Seabourn is another luxury cruise line.

And it is offering a 12-day Newfoundland and Gulf of St. Lawrence reverie, is what they call it, on the Seabourn Quest.

Similar kind of itinerary as you saw or heard about with Silversea.

Again, starting in Montreal, stops in Quebec City, Saguenay, Havre-Saint-Pierre, Laonze-aux-Meadows in Newfoundland, St. John's in Newfoundland, Saint-Pierre, and then Cap-aux-Mieux.

Now, if you were sailing with Holland America, you might find the pricing more to your liking if you don't want to spend as much as the luxury cruises cost with Holland America.

My clients were paying for two people about $12,000, so $6,000 a person approximately.

But they're working in the kitchen.

It's like, how can you be the greatest chef? How can you become good in the kitchen when you haven't experienced or seen the world and see what the way other people eat and what do they eat, how they eat and how they prepare it? For me, I've been lucky enough that when I was working at the Seabourn, I got to travel all over the world.

So kind of like open my eyes and I'm like, OK, this is what I want to do.

Yeah.

He's been part of Windstar forever.

He was even part of the earlier Seabourn ships, which people don't know.

He was on board his crew.

Can I talk

No, you're not getting him over there for that.

And he's certainly not paying for his drinks because you normally find the former founder of Apple on Seabourn or Silver Sea where he pays for diddly.

And I'm sure he's not in a cot in the corner.

They've had to make changes, but it's a new regime.

To drown your sorrows because there are no longer film strip fries, you can get an adult beverage.

It's called the Seabourn Sangria, which is just no explanation needed, apparently.

It just says it's served over ice with some mixed fruit.

Over at the Hollywood Lounge, we have a new savory dish called the Beef and Cheese Tamale a la Plancha.

Uh, it's, it's probably one of the most safest experiences I've, I've had and, uh, super experienced crew.

Uh, we were on Atlas, um, Steve was on Seabourn and, uh, yeah, so, uh, just put a little asterisk next to that.
