Scunthorpe

So the mood is.

no it's not going to happen by the bristol rovers fans seven goals no chance they're playing a scunthorpe side who i think were already relegated if not that result was going to relegate them a scunthorpe side in terrible financial trouble by the way and having a hell of a time and they've paid the price for that ever since um god bless them and um You know, he put out,

Scunthorpe put out a side of, I think, about

seven of the players won the 19s.

I mean, they just didn't care.

Now, you know, there comes the argument from Northampton that it wasn't a full strength side.

I don't think Scunthorpe had a full strength side at all.

At that point of the season,

But, obviously, it's just going to take time.

You know, there's some places in England that just have those names that just sound grim, like Grimsby, Scunthorpe, these kind of areas that just sound warm.

Scunthorpe, they

sound great.

They're all close to each other.

What is that story actually? Because it obviously impacted you.

Yeah, so I was brought up in a steel town in the north of England called Scunthorpe.

And it was a very northern town.

It was all focused on the steelworks and the steel industry.

And apparently what came out of me was I said to him, But dad, you're not happy there.

Why would I want to work there? When I look back on that moment, and I spent four days with my dad as he was passing about eight years ago, and this story really came to me that the two of us, I kind of shared.

And what I tried to do at that point, there was something in me that felt I needed to get away from Scunthorpe.

And I became the first in the family to do a degree and then built a career and etc.

The good ones.

Yeah, and there was this venue in Scunthorpe called the Lincoln Imp.

That's confusing.

Yeah, it can be.

And it does seem to happen with quite a few managers.

If you look at last season, for example, where Reece McNally got an injury after the first month and he was out for, what, four months, five months? And he wasn't back before Christmas because when we did the game against Scunthorpe for the Reds, I think he was back on the pitch training, but he still wasn't ready for the matchday squad yet.

And then I remember talking to Rhys about it and he said he's never had an injury like it.

He said he's never had an injury season like that before.

Obviously, it's still very early in the season, but it's not looking good so far.

Three wins and five losses from the first eight.

And other than Worthing on Saturday, we've then got Scunthorpe away.

The following Saturday, we've started equally as underwhelmingly as pools have.

Uh, and-
