Scout Bassett

So it was cool to be able to speak on that and then get to hear other perspectives.

And then the other panel, I think just hearing what s- specifically Scout Bassett, like I said, she's a Paralympian, and she was talking about how the last time the Olympics were in LA, the Paralympics were not a part of it, and she was talking about her journey and, like, finding training and stuff and how just accessibility for Paralympians is so hard to come by, and she was trying to find a trainer, and someone had turned her down because they're like, "Well, I've never worked with, like, a Paralympic athlete before." And so hearing that, her story and that process, I thought it was so, like, motivating, inspiring, um, and also got me really excited to watch [laughs] all of the Olympics coming up in LA.

And then just hearing all of the work that people are doing.

I feel like I'm being put in more spaces where I'm learning about all of the impact that people are having in different parts.

Mm.

And then Scout Bassett reminded us who can get left out when our definition of investment is too narrow.

Her story's powerful, but what stayed with me were the gaps she exposed.

Talent can be everywhere; access is not.
