Scotty Barnhart

So I got the gig, basically, long story short, I went to Florida State for my master's degree, and we did a tribute to Count Basie and his music, maybe my second year there, of two years.

And we're fortunate at that school to have Scotty Barnhart, who's the director of the Count Basie Orchestra.

He teaches jazz trumpet at Florida State.

So we did this tribute concert, and he came through, kind of gave us some tips, and he got to hear me play maybe, you know, whatever, eight songs or so from the book.
