Nancy Pelosi is not running for another term in the Congress.

Connie Chan, who's a member of the Board of Supervisors, is facing Scott Wiener, the state senator, to determine who will replace her as the congressperson from San Francisco.

Who do you think wins?

I find it hard to believe that Scott Wiener won't win.

Um, i, I mean, when it comes between the two of them, although I disagree with Scott on a lot of things, um, he is a, by far a better legislator than she is.

She's accomplished virtually nothing as a supervisor, whereas Scott Wiener as a supervisor accomplished a lot of things.

Not all things I agreed with, but one thing I did agree with him on, for example, is he and, he and I did an interview in his office, and he worked very hard to get our animal care and control a new shelter when the mighty nonprofit San Francisco SPCA was fighting against it because, you know, they want all the money and, you know, for themselves.

They didn't want them to have a shiny new facility where, God forbid, more dogs might get adopted.

And so she succeeded and Chan did very well.

So now it's Chan versus Scott Wiener, state senator from San Francisco, openly gay.

He finished first in the primary by quite a few points.

But Pelosi has really put her foot on the pedal.

She's helping Connie Chan with fundraising, boosting her campaign in many, many ways.

She's even calling some of Scott Wiener's endorsers, trying to get them to change their mind, Dolores Huerta in particular.

And so it's not so much of a generational question, I think, because they're, you know, Chan's a little younger than Wiener, but they're both under 60.

But I think it's going to be really about who can get things done.

I think Proposition 45 is really consistent with a lot of things and complementary to a lot of things that he has been pushing and championing in the legislature.

I think about AB 130 from last year, obviously the infill housing exemption that he obviously worked with Assemblymember Wicks and Scott Wiener on.

And so again, I think it's very complementary to a lot of the policy positions that he's been advocating as governor.
