Scott Westerfeld

It's the death of optimism.

Author Scott Westerfeld, who wrote the novel Leviathan, makes this really brilliant observation about this era in our sources.

Right, about World War I.

Yes.

okay all right there's a vote for harry potter

yes um well obviously my favorite series i love percy jackson but my favorite singular book is probably after worlds by scott westerfeld which my great librarian linda perez recommended to me And I really like it because it tells a story, it's alternating chapters, so there will be a chapter in the life of a fictional author, trying to make it in New York, and then it'll alternate to chapters of the book that she's writing.

My favorite book is Hunger by Michael Grant because the story centers around the characters that are pushed to their limits, and we get to witness how they come out on the other end, the last book.

Plus, I appreciate the diverse cast.

It is a very different kind of book.

The Mortons, Justine Larbalestier and Scott Westerfeld.

The cover, and it's exactly right, Diabolical and Delicious.

See, I love that description.

What a good group of books.

To recap, I read Mother, Daughter, Sister, Stranger by Hank Philippi Ryan, The Silent Appeal by Janice Hallett, and The Pirate Queen by Ariel Lawhon.

Lisa See, Daughters of the Sun and Moon, The Patient, A British Mystery by Tim Sullivan, The Mortons by Justine Larbalestier and Scott Westerfeld, and The Witches of Cambridge by Alice Hoffman.

I have to tell you, I had to go look for this book this morning.

We did, like I said, the first, we did Templar together and Prince of Persia together.

And then he went off and illustrated Spill Zone with Scott Westerfeld and a bunch of, he's a French artist, so he works more in France.

But I convinced him to come on to do an adaptation of the Madeline picture books, you know, the Madeline picture books, Ludwig Bemelman?

Yeah.
