Scott Waguespack

We followed it from the beginning.

I am appreciative and sympathetic to Scott Waguespack, Pat Dowell, uh, Nicole Lee, and a couple of other alders who led the negotiations and, and wrangled a few concessions for the city, namely some small amount of profit sharing.

Um, as everyone probably knows, they've heard us and others talk about this for 18 years now.

The original sell-off of the parking meter rights also included the sell-off of all the revenues from the system for 75 years.

Yeah.

And I don't think any of them were saying this is a great deal.

I didn't hear anyone, I didn't hear Scott Waguespack, Pat Dowell, they were not saying, "This is an awesome deal." They were saying, "Listen, we got stuck with this, and, um, we've done our best to try to mitigate it a little bit."

Yeah.

You, you know this show is, um, uh, about the country, right? And I have stayed far away from Chicago, uh, for years on this show.

Um, but I'm joined today by my alderman, uh, Scott Waguespack, who has done a terrific job.

He serves, I, uh, I'm sorry to do this to you, Scott.

He, he's been in the city council for, I don't know, nearly 20 years? Maybe 20 years.
