Okay, so we're going to talk about the ACC Minister, Scott Simpson, who's trumpeting a crackdown on fraud.

He reckons the number of investigations by ACC went up 12-fold.

So tell me the story.

Yeah, that's right.

Look, Scott Simpson's office got in touch with me, very pleased that the number of fraud investigations happened.

ACC did increased 12-fold between 2023 and 2025.

So I thought, well, that sounds good.

Here's what the material shows.

In March 2025, ACC Minister Scott Simpson agreed to a proposal that would enable ACC levies to be collected wholly or in part on a distance basis, much like current road user charges.

Drafting of a wider accident compensation amendment bill had already begun.

This wasn't a random idea.

On top of that, we're calling on every political party to tell motorcycle licence holders what their motorcycle ACC levy policy will be before they ask for our votes.

Silence isn't a policy and another automatic increase is not reform.

The question for Scott Simpson and for every politician who wants Kiwi motorcyclists to vote for them is simple.

If the government was able to do the work required to charge motorcyclists more, why wasn't it prepared to do the work needed to find out whether there was a fairer way of doing so? If any of those politicians are listening, there's an open invitation to appear on Keep It Twisted.
