uh i went with scott ryan from mr in between i don't know if you're mr in between best show on disney plus at the moment but yeah he needs to be in more and he's got an australian accent so i thought i'd carry on someone struggling with a scottish accent in it

I went with something slightly different I went with a girl and I thought it would be quite interesting to cast it with a woman because then I think what you could then do is you could then start exploring the fact that she's an immortal but then she's also a woman and then she has to grow up And then they'll grow up.

There is humour in this as well, I think.

Anyway, it's written by Scott Ryan, who plays Ray.

So he created it and he wrote it.

He actually did a kind of a mockumentary about a fellow like Ray called The Magician.

The front of the nightclub is actually I think a southwestern Sydney nightclub, but the actual inside is the Mariful Bowling Club, if you look carefully.

um and so i i love spotting you know i know that chicken shop i've been to that place um But just really quickly before I hand to Emma, because as you can see, I have loved this show.

fan yeah he he first mentioned it um scott ryan is the guy he's this sort of writer actor he couldn't get work for ages and end up writing this show and nash edgerton he partnered up with and i think nash edgerton director i know i know

yeah um oh it's really really good because he's sort of like this really tough kind of hit man but it's also a kind of soap opera about his life and his family and he's it's got brooke satchwell in it who i used to be totally in love with i think back in the 90s whenever it was that she was on whatever soap she was on she was in neighbors neighbors wasn't it yeah brooke satchwell satchwell yeah yeah she's gorgeous god he's sort of having a romance with her but yeah this final episode is he gets there's a hit an order for a hit goes out on him for whatever reason I can't remember why so these two guys are hired they stick him in the boot and then they have to stop at like a like a big hardware store to go get something when they go in to get something the car gets stolen by a couple of losers he then bring him back to a garage and say oh what can you do with it and the guy's like oh pull it apart and pull you know sand the chassis number off and all that sort of stuff that they do And then he hears this sort of noise from the boot, opens it up, and he's just out of time to go, who the fuck are you? And then he shuts the boot on him, drives into the middle of the bush somewhere, and just leaves him and runs off.

I've heard him interviewed on radio and – I know he started out at RMIT Film School, I think.

I don't think he's done anything ever.

Uh, the one I, I think is a really great observation is the head of the Woodsmen in particular because I think that one's a happy accident.

I forget what year it was, but Scott Ryan did an interview with Robert Brosky, uh, for Blue Rose magazine, and Robert Brosky was supposed to be that Woodsman, but something in his schedule, like, fell through so he couldn't do it.

So it was David Lynch, he kinda made this, like, kind of mask.

I don't know what the material is, but it's, like, definitely not Robert Brosky, but the way that the mask just, like, effectively detaches and floats off, yeah, I think that one is, like, a happy accident that just retroactively fits in with everything you're mentioning right now.
