Scott Rasmussen

Bases are sprawling things, and today's Republican version can be broadly separated between mega-enthusiasts deeply loyal to Mr. Trump and more traditional Republicans.

Pollster Scott Rasmussen of RMG Research makes that distinction by asking voters the following question.

If you had to choose between four candidates of equal character and competence, Would you prefer someone who advocated A, Trump-like policies, B, traditional Republican policies, C, traditional Democratic policies, or D, policies like those of Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? The key point coming out of RMG's most recent polling on the question? That MAGA base, who answered A, is already fired up.

The August numbers show that more than 50% of them are very enthusiastic about voting.

But because we're heading into the fall election... because we're headed into an unprecedented Republican mid-year or midterm convention.

Scott Rasmussen, the great pollster, will kick off our conversation today.

Then we'll bring in Kent Terry, the brother of Brian Terry, that CPB agent slain nearly 16 years ago.

Bombshell revelation about what he found stuffed.

He's all he also has a new book out titled Out of Touch, the elite one percent and the battle for America's soul.

And we're definitely going to ask him about that because he's one of the few pollsters out there who does this special sector of polling on the elite one percent.

And, you know, you set it up a minute ago by saying we're now at Labor Day and it's beginning the season.

I can also promise you, Scott, that I will not look at any poll as a precise measure of anything.

Yeah.

And, you know, it's election season, whether we're ready or not.

It's going to be a very interesting next few months.

And Scott, I know that we will have you back on very soon to keep us abreast of everything that's taking place.

And what I mean is when the questions from the pollsters get more specific and nuanced, the opposition to them looks different, more reasonable.

For example, Scott Rasmussen, famous poller, says that voters are apprehensive about data centers, but they don't necessarily need politicians to cater to their anxiety.

He says data centers are just not a pressing issue for most.

They rank at the bottom of voter priorities, well behind the economy, inflation, health care, national security, crime, education, immigration, gun laws, climate change and abortion.

And then there's another one and they've been the most accurate.

And just like America, like the Scott, they get, you know, Scott Rasmussen, who's been the most accurate.

Trafalgar has been the most, most accurate.

They're all looked at as like being right on the right, you know, right pollsters, but they've been right.

All right, one-on-one time.

Rasmussen does a study.

And again, whenever we talk about polling, you got to say out loud, for whatever it's worth.

People seem to think that non-political polls, like when I say political polls, I mean polling on a specific race, are very inaccurate.

So, you know, I get it.

Why do we talk about polls ever? Maybe should we just ban them from the show or could they be somewhat accurate or get a glimpse? So I'm not so interested by nature in the result as much as still the wording and how we frame things and how we ask them and who's asking them.

By the way, Scott Rasmussen, who started Rasmussen Polling and started ESPN with his father, his father passed away, I believe it was four or five days ago.

So Scott used to be a regular guest on my show when I was that.

This is, this is what James Carville is screeching about.

Rasmussen's Napolitano's News poll backs this up.

49% unfavorable to socialism versus just 31% favorable, and pollster Scott Rasmussen made an important point there.

He said these numbers have basically remained unchanged over the last five to 10 years-
