Scott Dibble

Minneapolis continues to fight the battles of 2021.

And here I have a picture with Ward 10 Councilmember Ayesha Choktai, Ward 7 Councilmember Elizabeth Schaefer, Representative Jamie Long, and Senator Scott Dibble.

All of them shared their thoughts at the Uptown Futures Forum last night.

On Tuesday night, as we walked away from the Uptown Futures Forum 2.0 at the Granada Theater, my companion shared his disappointment with the Doran apartment building going up at the corner of Hennepin and 31st.

As chair of the Budget Committee, Chugtai likely has the numbers right, but her approach suggested more interest in continuing her battle with Mayor Frey than in finding ways to reinvigorate Uptown.

What statements like this one lack is context.

She could have pressed her fellow panelists, State Senator Scott Dibble and Representative Jamie Long, for more state funding for county programs.

It would also be worth hearing how much responsibility for our current challenges lie with Hennepin County.

Let's go back to the phone lines as we get in more phone calls as we talk with the president and CEO of the Minnesota Orchestra, Isaac Thompson.

In Minneapolis, Scott's on the phone.

Hi, Scott.

What did you want to tell us or

ask? Oh, hi there.

This is actually Scott Dibble, state senator.
