Scott Avett

For my audience.

This is two brothers, Seth and Scott Avett.

They're how many years? Four or five years apart.

They've been making music forever together.

They're just beautiful reflections on different things and different phases of life.

In the documentary, May It Last, which was about the Avett brothers, Scott Avett describes this song as having taken the most sacrifice to make, that was his quote, and calling the recording process a mining of the soul.

And you really get that in this song.

You know, they don't go on to say exactly what it was written about, but, you know, one of their band members had a daughter who was fighting cancer.

Exactly.

Scott Avett, man.

What a legend.

Well, he's awesome.
