Scope creep

It's all the work, right? And I could go, if I went to work for an agency, that part would go away because they would be handling the invoicing.

But there's still the issue of scope creep, right? Right.

Even if you're the individual consultant working for an agency and you have a certain number of billable hours that you need to put in, how do you guys handle like the scope creep if you're not charging, if you're charging by project, not by the hour?

Yeah, it's a tricky one.

I'm still balancing it out myself.

I'll just fix this one thing.

And that kind of ended up being a bad thing down the road because just like as an internal employee, you kind of get walked all over or taken advantage of.

So now any new clients that I've brought on, anyone that's worked with me in the second half of 2020 might have noticed I'm a little bit more strict about scope creep.

I mean, so people calling it a scam, I can't argue with that either because it has been insane.

And the scope creep and everything else that has grown up around it, you know, I can't blame people for getting pissed off.

I did watch the trailer, though, and it looked kind of awesome, so I am hoping that it would be cool if, like, this turned out to be fucking awesome.

Like, it reminds me of Chinese Democracy, the Guns N' Roses album that took forever and ever and ever, and it was, like, gonna be their industrial album, but they waited so long that industrial came and went, and then it came out, and we were like, alright, that's an okay album, Guns N' Roses.

Yeah.

This is the Scope Creep people, though.

When I had 27 freaking games in a week, so I didn't get to play them.
