Because we're spending so much money, as Lauren said, when it comes to costs.

Parks and Recreation said repairing the damaged lights along the Schuylkill River Trail and Bartram's Garden cost eight hundred thousand dollars.

That's money we could be better spending elsewhere.

So if we need some inspiration in Louisville, they're pivoting to solar powered lighting as opposed to using these lights that are using copper.

Officials say it's happening citywide with an uptick starting back in the spring.

In April, we reported on repeated thefts and vandalism at Bartram's Garden, leaving part of the Schuylkill River Trail completely dark after sunset.

There were also three targeted late-night shootings earlier this year, two of them fatal in or near Hunting Park.

So this is where they're stealing the wire.

This past Sunday, I did my long run on the Schuylkill River Trail, which I've talked about before.

I go there maybe once a month or so, I'd say, but this one was great for unusual reasons.

I've struggled through my long runs and even many of the shorter ones throughout the summer due to heat and humidity.

What? I believe it's somewhere around like Market Street, like Walnut Street entrances where like there's kind of like that road going above it.

And there's like stairs to get you down to the Schuylkill River Trail.

I actually tried really hard to figure out exactly where it was, but I couldn't figure it out.

So I'll have to go on a walk one day.

And the Rive is the Schuylkill River.

And they hang out somewhere under one of those overpasses off the Schuylkill River Trail.

And I guess they're vaping and drinking down there.

And there's actually an Instagram account for the Rive.

This is very important.

Obviously, these people did not do any of their data collection on the Schuylkill River Trail in Philadelphia.

I don't know if you've ever rode your bike on the Schuylkill River Trail, Chad.

But nobody waves back on that.

You could be on a straight entry-level aluminum 105 or even a Claris model.

You're not waving back if you're on that.

I waved.

I've never had less wavebacks than when I was out there for work and I was training on the Schuylkill River Trail.

Um, you're away from the neighbors in, over in Parkside.

And another place that I think would be really screamable, um, is the Schuylkill River Trail.

I was walking on the trail with my friend Erin, and we walked across the new bridge, uh, that connects Christian to Crescent, the Center City to Grays Ferry-
