Lars NunnsGUEST
And it's the first really memorable comedy character that I've played that made me realise that I loved comedy.
Lars NunnsGUEST
because I like when I'm singing I usually take quite like a ballad or I'll take a big belt song so I don't usually go to comedy songs when I'm singing so doing a full character that is just hilarious and the script's written perfectly for it I really enjoyed that one um Also, I think Dewey Finn in School of Rock was the other really, really good one that I loved.
Lars NunnsGUEST
I'd just done a performance of Les Mis, which is polar opposite to School of Rock.
Lars NunnsGUEST
So it was refreshing to have an audience laughing instead of crying.
Lars NunnsGUEST
And I think it's really my typecast.
Lars NunnsGUEST
worst feeling.
Thomas GrimwoodHOST
Yeah, understandable.
Thomas GrimwoodHOST

Adam FisherGUEST
We've done all sorts.
Adam FisherGUEST
Um, it, it was incredibly difficult when, um, Natasha, my wife, she w- got cast in School of Rock while I was associate on School of Rock.
Adam FisherGUEST
So we were both in tech on the same show with, uh, two kids under the age of six, I think.
ShoshanaHOST
No way! Yeah, yeah.
ShoshanaHOST
And you and Bridie, obviously, with Beetlejuice and the School of Rock of it all.
Will BlumGUEST
But even, I think it was like 2012, 2013, we did a reading and I read Steven because Nick was like, will you just come in and read this part? No way! And so I was like, sure.
Will BlumGUEST
So it was me and Brightman.
Nabaté IslesGUEST
And then also Mumu Fresh, one of the great female rappers and singers around, very underrated from the Baltimore area.
Nabaté IslesGUEST
And I got her to collaborate with my good friend Badir Farrar, a wonderful singer who sang on the School of Rock and Broadway.
Nabaté IslesGUEST
We went to NYU together for our masters.
Nabaté IslesGUEST
And she sings on a track called Black Girl Magic.
Helen ChongGUEST
I think that in itself was like one of the, I can remember seeing that show.
Helen ChongGUEST
I saw School of Rock here.
Helen ChongGUEST
I remember being like, wow, this is something I really want to do.
Helen ChongGUEST
And then maybe taking it a little bit more seriously after that.
Theatre DudeHOST
I'm gonna listen to that after this.
Theatre DudeHOST
And School of Rock the Musical, I saw this in the Leeds Grand.
Theatre DudeHOST
So good.
Theatre DudeHOST
I'm Too Hot For You.
Theatre DudeHOST
It's just introducing Dewey and the band.
Theatre DudeHOST
It's not the best song.
Theatre DudeHOST
It's not particularly my favorite song in, uh, School of Rock.
Theatre DudeHOST
It's, um, a great musical, but obviously I'm judging the opening number, so not the best, honestly.
