Scar

realized that episode one.

But also, like, he hasn't ever beaten Scar.

You know what I mean? And I feel like...

I

mean, Scar's...

I feel like Luffy could fake beat Scar, like...

Episode one, Luffy? I'm not jagging it.

You think...

What,

Scar dies? Scar's alive.

If Scar's alive, then everything works out, then.

If Scar's alive, then everything

works out, bro.

People who died, died.

Yep.

Scar, Full Metal Alchemist, bad take, not the most anabolic character in the show.

You're telling me Colonel Armstrong and Sig Curtis? Yeah, no.

You're telling me that handshake is not the highest test shot in that whole show? Yeah.

They are charismatic, brave, and loyal, but they are deeply complicit in war crimes.

You have Scar, a survivor of the genocide who is actively murdering state alchemists in revenge.

The author forces the reader to sit with what a person truly owes for crimes committed while simply following orders in uniform.

Arakawa actually grew up on a dairy farm in Hokkaido, and you can feel that in her art.

I'm kind of in the mood for something like it these days, so, yeah.

All right, Mariner Burr is up next and says, "First, Scar from Fullmetal Alchemist is introduced as the enemy, a serial killer targeting state alchemists with his own brand of destructive alchemy.

As the story progresses, we learn that he is motivated by revenge against the state for the civil war and near genocide of his ethnic group.

The state alchemists did do terrible things in the name of the state.

As more and more dark secrets are revealed, Scar ultimately joins forces with the Elric brothers against the true mastermind behind the massacre of his people."

Yeah, it's n- it's not really so much like a deep philosophy or, like, thing below it.

It's just a very understandable motivation, [laughs] you know? They-

I guess that's kinda fair.
