What do you need? I don't think that science fiction is their cup of tea, but they watched it because their kid was in it.
Michael ShanksHOST
I think actually Saving Hope was much more in their vein or Hallmark movies, especially, uh, is somehow they love the Hallmark movies and they hate it when I play bad guys.
Michael ShanksHOST
They're those kinds of parents, right? That they see.
Michael ShanksHOST
Why were you being so mean in that show? I didn't like it like that.
30 MINS LATER
Michael ShanksHOST
And that's how I, the time working with him, I've seen him only a couple of times since the show.
Michael ShanksHOST
And the most recent was over 10 years ago where I was at the, what are called the upfronts.
Michael ShanksHOST
in in toronto uh bell media has what are called the up fronts which are kind of like the tcas it's basically a unveiling of the network's schedule and i was there doing saving hope uh and beau was there and i can't remember the show because it only lasted the one season where it was i think it's something about the the cia the agency or something to that effect and i just saw him briefly and what was hilarious is that i'm standing there with erica durance uh who's uh Lois from Smallville and she was Alex's co-lead good friend and I say hi to Bo as we're backstage briefly and I said because we were kind of there people on stage and we're kind of just bliss off to the side and we sort of push together and And I'm like, Bo! And he's like, who's that? And I'm like, it's Shanks.
Michael ShanksHOST
And he's like, oh my God, Michael! And blah, blah, blah.

We
Michael ShanksHOST
have that a lot on Saving Hope, but we would sometimes, we would basically troubleshoot the scene on Saving Hope where we would sit with them, we would be on set, everybody go for a coffee, crew goes for a coffee while we work this scene out because the dialogue in here doesn't make sense or we're trying to make a scene out of an idea of a scene which is what we have here and the writers are in there the director's in there and you're workshopping the scene from an honesty perspective to try and build something that would happen a lot on saving up which was you know that was stress inducing because you're basically learning the scene and then going to shoot it um I think the worst one, I don't know if I've told this story before, but the worst one ever that I got for Stargate, I would get it the night before sometimes.
Michael ShanksHOST
Not often.
Michael ShanksHOST
So the night before
