Save the Green Planet!

I think it's either Korean or Japanese.

It's called Save the Green Planet.

That makes a lot of sense, actually.

Because Koreans be crazy.

I mean, I was really big into South Korean film in, like, the mid-2000s.

The first film I saw, like, probably 03 or 02, was Save the Green Planet.

I got it on a Netflix DVD, and that was kind of the first one that I jumped onto.

And then I just ate everything up that I could from South Korea that was kind of hyped up.

But there is definitely going to be some bang, bang, bang.

Mike, do you have a feeling about Hong Jin's films in terms of the meandering?

Yeah, the big thing that I noticed with a lot of Korean films is Tonal shifts happen a lot, just willy-nilly a lot of times where it'll shift, like you say, from action to horror to comedy, almost like bipolar in the way that jarring mixes of tones and genres just consistently flipping on its head and even going all the way back to Save the Green Planet.

which was remade into Begonia, which also is very much the same thing where we're flipping in between genres.

So it's funny 'cause I, I, I loved it too, but a lot of people were not fans of it, and I didn't realize it was a remake.

Yeah, uh, Save the Green Planet, which I honestly I've not seen.

I haven't either.

Um, but I have heard it's great.

And I have not seen the movie that this is a remake of.

It's a remake of a South Korean movie called Save the Green Planet.

And the premise, I understand, is pretty much exactly the same.

Yeah, they're very, very different.

I only saw Save the Green Planet once back in the Netflix mailing DVDs days, but it's much more kind of what you would expect from like an absurd Korean genre kind of story.

It's just, you know, the particular comedic tone.
