And so Pontiac disappeared.

Saturn disappeared.

And then GM eventually enters bankruptcy in 2009.

And so Chrysler, going into bankruptcy, went with Fiat, and that's how they came under the Stellantis umbrella.

I'll tell you a funny childhood memory.

So we live here in middle Tennessee, and in the late 1980s, uh, GM, General Motors, decided they were gonna open a Saturn brand, the Saturn brand.

And so they put this Saturn plant, uh, in between Spring Hill, Tennessee and Columbia, Tennessee, a little patch of grass in the middle of nowhere.

There was nothing down, um, in that area of the, of the state.

It was just cow fields.

But they started bringing in all these people from the Midwest.

All these GM employees from Indiana and Michigan and all these places started coming down, and uh, they were moving in this area to work for Saturn.

And so, you know, I moved here in 1988 in the midst of all that craze.

Uh, Hoovie got one of those things, and it's wicked cool.

And other, other car companies, Saturn.

Saturn.

Saturn.

Yeah.

When Saturn came out, it, it seemed like such a duped promise.

Like-

No haggle pricing.

Can somebody help?" A person asked, "Does it sound like a rock is being tossed in a tin can?" And he says, "No, it's more like a grinding noise whenever I go over 3,000 RPM, especially noticeable when I let off the, uh, gas pedal coming off the highway.

It's higher pitch than normal engine noise." And he drives a 2000 Saturn SL2 with standard transmission.

Okay.

So r- now that I know what that is, read exactly what it said again one more time.

So he's saying he feel, he's sounding like an, there's an engine knock in the car.

Specifically it sounds like a grinding noise every time he goes over 3,000 RPM, and he especially notices it when he, uh, lets off the gas pedal coming off the highway, specifically.

And it's a Saturn.

That's a problem.

Oh, wow.

And, and the Saturn dealer would drive them down to the racetrack and clean house, just get every trophy, get everything, 'cause they were-

... no different than the Tesla.

Yeah

And people who don't remember, Captiva was weird, but when General Motors killed Saturn, they had a pretty nice compact crossover on their hands with the Saturn Vue, and that simply became a Chevy-

... that they only put into rental fleets called Captiva.

So if you ever see the Chevy Captiva, you're like, "What the hell is that?" It was a Saturn.

Yep.

All right.
