Sarov

Well, we're just going to see them off at the station and they depart by train at 9.05 p.m.

So then on January 24th, they arrive at Sarov station at around 6.38 a.m. after a 10.00. and a half hour overnight train they then face an 11 hour layover and it's during this stretch that georgie is briefly detained by police for singing loudly in public having been trying to charm his way into a breakfast cafe because lydia controlled the group funds and i think she was being a bit tight-fisted and um so yeah he gets a bit rowdy singing for his breakfast Then on January 25th, they continue by train to Ivdel, then travel onward to Vizay, which is the last inhabited settlement before true wilderness, described as basically the edge of civilization at the time.

And it's a former Gulag-linked logging and mining outpost.

So this is, I mean, to me, it sounds a pretty terrifying place to be.
