The Sarasota Police Department fired former officer Corey Waiters following his arrest Wednesday in connection with an internal criminal investigation.

uh, charges involving official misconduct, public records, law violations and computer system misuse Wednesday allegedly misused law enforcement only search databases, including David and flock.

SPD said internal affairs investigation was launched immediately leading to criminal investigation and waiters being placed on paid admin leave August 7th.

Um, and speaking of flock cameras, um, this is a different story.

Uh, the Sarasota Police Department is investigating an officer for suspected misuse of law enforcement-only search databases.

Sarasota Police Department says it learned of the alleged misuse August 6th and placed the officer on leave the next day while launching an agency-wide compliance audit.

The officer has worked with SPD since 2023, but the department has not released the of- officer's identity or details about the alleged misuse.

So it is not confirmed if it was the flock camera, um, database.
