I had the honor of contributing to an If Emmett Till Lived curated exhibit that is currently at the museum of contemporary photography in Chicago.

I'm so grateful to Reverend Wheeler Parker, Emmett's cousin, beloved cousin and the last person to see him alive before he was kidnapped, and also Professor Sarah Lewis, the visionary person behind this exhibit.

But it was an opportunity to imagine the Black future that Emmett was robbed of.

And of course, ultimately, that's what this is all about.

um chris uh had the honor of filling out a run sheet and uh omitted the actual 6k race but you know in terms of the race that matters uh we had the 6k doggy dash uh so in the women's doggy dash 6k the mighty java trail run we had claire franklin taking out the wind in 34 39 megan davies in 3505 Claire Jackman running out the podium with 36.45.

In the men's race, we have Riccardo Mattia Palermo, 29.16. Daniel Everett in 30.17 and Benjamin Ivankovic in 32.09. Back to the non-dog race in the 12K, we had the women's race that had Sharon Davis take out the win in 103.47, Janine Barrow in 104.44, and Sarah Lewis rounding out the podium with 104.54.

In the men's race, we had Stuart Shepard in 101.40, Reid Purcell in 103.04, and Lee Davis in 103.40.

In the half marathon in the women's race, we had none other than Petra Gerogian in 1.36.16, Ash Ritson in 1.38.54, Caroline Fenton in 1.53.12. And in the men's race, we had Jonti Kauder taking out the win in 1.26.33, Leon Kuchera

The exhibition comes as our history continues to be contested as the Trump administration escalates its attack on truth, targeting programs and institutions that speak openly about Black history, an inseparable piece of our history, of American history.

The curator of the exhibition, Sarah Lewis, calls it this, quote, A Reckoning with the Past in a Probing Investigation of the Current State of American Life.

Joining me now is Sarah Lewis, the curator behind If Emmett Till Lived, Freedom on American Ground, which is on view right now through December 19th at Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Photography.

She's also the founder of Vision and Justice and is a professor at Harvard University.

Also joining is Reverend William Parker Jr., pastor at Argo Temple.
