Sara Bronin

Yeah, great question, and any given day, I, I ask myself that question.

Um, but no, I, I, I think from when this work started, and, and Sarah Bronin had started this back in 2020, um, really as kind of an ad hoc research project trying to educate the public on how impactful these very obscure, archaic zoning laws are to, you know, racial exclusion, environmental instability, economic stagnation, and that was a really tough conversation For a lot of folks.

And translating all this really complicated stuff into just a simple story of why does my neighborhood look like this, why can't I find affordable housing, why isn't the state growing? Um, you can really have a pretty good conversation when you- people understand zoning.

So I think our most successful initiative has just been educating the public in Connecticut, including lawmakers at the local and state level of how this housing theory of everything, uh, can come down to, [lips smack] uh, land use reform and these kind of seemingly mundane decisions.
