We are, as we speak, under 30 days away from the midterm elections.

If you listen to the news, if you listen to podcasts that are political, you hear everybody talking about this, the polls.

His plan would have allowed the Postal Service to refuse certain ballot mail unless states followed new federal rules and placed voters on approved lists.

The Post Office... was going to become the bouncer at democracy.

I am currently, as I record this, in New York City with a view overlooking the Hudson River in the middle of a nor'easter that hasn't turned out to be as bad in Manhattan as they predicted.

But I understand in other areas up and down the coastline here, it's been a challenge for some communities.

So maybe the question isn't whether we're smart enough to solve this.

Maybe the question is whether we're smart enough to do it.
