And Sandy, first of all, why do this Alzheimer's and dementia support group there?
71:33
It is essentially important to have an Alzheimer's support group.
71:37
And first, let me throw a statistic at you.
71:39
Over 7 million Americans have dementia, and that equates to one in nine people over the age of 65.
71:48
And according to the Alzheimer's Association, it's going to double by 2060, and that is astronomical.
71:56
So it's extremely important that we have a support group for this.
72:01
And we've noticed with the community that people are sending emails or people come in and have conversation.
73:41
So maybe kind of fill us in on what a meeting would be like.
70:54
Sandy, good morning.
70:55
Good morning.
70:56
How are you?
71:03
And today we're kind of talking to folks who are out there listening who may have a family member suffering through dementia and just really having conversations with that person and meaningful conversations and maybe some tips on conversation starters, maybe six ways you're going to share with us to share, you know, to start conversations with that loved one.
71:28
You know, that is one of the biggest things I've ran into lately is family members coming and saying, you know, I still want to have that meaningful conversation, but I don't know what to say to them because of their dementia.
71:40
So I have come up with six conversation starters for people who have dementia.
71:47
And let me first say that we always want to make sure that we avoid saying, do you remember? That's kind of one of those things that we go to.
71:56
But in these conversation starters, the first thing we need to remember is not to say, do you remember? You need to say, I remember with anyone who has dementia.
