But in generation four, Lorenzo de' Medici, Lorenzo the Magnificent, as he is known, Restores the Medici name and brings unprecedented cultural influence.

He funds Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Botticelli.

He elevates Florence into the center of the Renaissance.

So strikingly, the Medici repeat this same cycle again later in the lineage, declined by the third generation, then a charismatic visionary redeemer in the fourth.

Mary, on the Prince of Peace thy gladness gleams from radiant eyes, but their light is touched with passing sadness like our English summer skies.

Angels' arms above thy head are holding crowns of golden stars, but the baby hands thy breast enfolding show to thee their future scars.

So they wanted to get as much of the look of Romeo and Juliet back then as possible.

While the art department studied the paintings of Botticelli, Bellini, Carpaccio, and Guzzali to try and capture as much of the art, look, feel, and sound of Shakespeare.

I think it's interesting how much respect Hollywood puts on Shakespeare, because going back to Midsummer Night's Dream, you obviously had this very successful stage play that Max Reinhardt had put on.

And that was kind of the in for Warner Brothers to be like, look, we're going to do justice to this play because obviously it's successful.

We are more and more to discuss details in art, politics, literature.

A man's opinion on tramcars matters, his opinion on Botticelli matters, his opinion on all things does not matter.

He may turn over and explore a million objects, but he must not find that strange object, the universe, for if he does, he will have a religion and be lost.

Everything matters except everything.
