By Friday, March 23rd, Bart had reached southeastern Utah, more than 1,500 miles from Michigan and just a few hours from Arizona.

At around 6 o'clock that morning, the electronic ankle monitor Bart was required to wear registered his location at the Mexican Hat Bridge in San Juan County.

And that's when it stopped.

And because of that monitor, investigators would later be able to pinpoint Bart's last known location and time with unusual precision.

So any tracks that might have shown investigators whether Bart had walked away from the vehicle or in which direction, those were gone.

So they expanded the search.

The San Juan County Sheriff's Office and Search and Rescue began covering the surrounding terrain on foot and horseback.

Drones were sent into the air to search places that were difficult to reach from the ground.

Most of the state lives in an urban area, and it's very easy for people in urban areas to get to vote.

A lot harder if you're in San Juan County or even parts of Washington County or the Wasatch Back or Rich County.

That's why Utah adopted mail-in voting, by the way.

We'd always allowed absentee voting, where you could request a mail-in ballot.

Information from the San Juan County Recorder's office shows one company has filed for seven permits since President Trump's reduction of the Bears Ears National Monument went into effect last Friday, and two permits have been filed for land that used to be inside the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.

The president's reductions allow companies to take the first step in filing for mineral extraction, as well as oil and gas claims in areas that used to be inside those two monuments.

The permitting process is still expected to take those companies several years.

UDOT says the $152 million energy corridor project will make travel safer for communities in the Utah portion of the Navajo Nation.

The construction upgraded 53 miles of state routes 162 and 262 in San Juan County.

It added new pavement, wider shoulders, guardrails, and a new roundabout in Montezuma Creek.

Work could soon start on President Trump's Triumphal Arch project, which is a 250-tall arch near the Arlington National Cemetery.

Oh, wow.

And they're wonderful people who are very well-intentioned and will go out and just remind people, especially in places like Indian Creek in the Bears Ears in San Juan County, which is a great climbing area.

And they'll go and just talk to climbers about climbing.
