Samford Bulldogs football

Then it's LSU, it's Ole Miss, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Alabama.

You get a homecoming game with Sa- I guess it's homecoming when you play the Samford Bulldogs.

But a three-in-one start right now after what was a good...

They made a play on third and five.

And the head coach of those Samford University Bulldogs, Coach John Gross, friend of the show, and joins us on the Higginbotham Hotline.

Coach Gross, how are you today?

Big win by the UAB Blazers against Navy.

Sanford wins on Saturday.

Alabama, Auburn, both victorious.

Always a very good weekend in the state of Alabama.

Pat on Friday and Alex Mortensen, tip of the cap, getting that big win over Navy.

You're seeing the team that I think is improving week by week.

And we have the, the, I guess the Metro city, it wouldn't be the city of Birmingham, whatever the showdown is with Sanford coming up this weekend should be good for not only UAB fans, Sanford fans, but also college football fans alike.

Yeah.

line.

But even that, they beat Monmouth, Chattanooga, and Samford.

I think that Monmouth win is more impressive than anything, just about anything.

18 through 25 has done.

Um, and Chattanooga has been a decent team of, of late and then put it on Samford when Villanova struggled with Samford.

So I would throw them in there, but I really can't argue.

Um, idaho is a weird one not idaho themselves but like i almost consider a win over idaho a good win because they played like pretty decent teams like lamar i think abilene christian is good they've played them close but then also their own four so there's really you can't like say that much uh about uh about them so don't

Sam Pickett.

Wide receiver from Samford, FCS, has been one of the big transfer gets of the year so far.

He wears number zero, outside wide receiver, very good.

The quarterback, Malachi Singleton, is playing well.

They had a bye this week.

They looked much improved against Samford.

And maybe that Samford, if I start seeing that offense start to consistently look like that, then maybe they're really sniffing this conversation too.

If we're talking Nashville, I think...

Oh, man.

which means you're at best getting two cupcakes a year for us.

It's Southern Miss and then what, Sanford in November? Yeah.

Florida took theirs up front, which, yeah.

Get it out of the way.

Turnovers were a huge problem in that game and dropping that one.

But bounce back with wins against Samford and SEMO.

How has the turnover bug from week one – how has it looked in the subsequent – subsequent? Subsequent? Subsequent? Tomato,

tomato.
