Now, David got in touch after our last episode with Dan Shipton.

How good was that, by the way? Just hearing some of what Dan had to say about Eurovision 2022 and the experience with Sam Ryder and even like Dan talking about when he first started working for BBC.

So like Electro Velvet and Joe and Jake and Lucy Jones and yeah, the kind of wilderness years of the of the mid 2010s.

Speaking of being patriotic, it is difficult for a lot of people here in the UK to be patriotic when it comes to Eurovision because...

It's no secret, we don't do very well at the contest.

We had an anomalous result in 2022 with Sam Ryder reaching second place.

But other than that, we've been stranded on the right-hand side.

What did you make of this 20-somethings sitcom, 20-something Damien Cooper?

I haven't been in 20-something for at least half my life now, I think.

It focuses more on Emily Phan's character.

So you get more of her and that wasn't the reason that I didn't enjoy it as much.

But we still don't get very much of Olive Grey's Sam.

I'm assuming the third episode would then focus on Sam because we've got Ethan and then Abby.

he? Apparently, he's not allowed to do every 15 years.

Sam Ryder has to go up.

It's like the kids.

But in amongst all of that, you're going to hear some incredible stories.

The likes of what it was like working with Sam Ryder in 2022 and seeing the UK finish second on the leaderboard.

We're going to talk about Electro Velvet as well, which was Dan's debut as a creative director at the Eurovision Song Contest.

And plenty more besides.

And we knew that there was something special about the whole thing and we couldn't wait for our first rehearsal.

Dan, before we get to our final question, let's talk about some of the artists you've been fortunate enough to work with in the world of Eurovision.

You know, we mentioned, we've just talked about Sam Ryder, Delta Goodrum, of course, Boy George as well earlier in the year.

You've worked with some amazing personalities.

But we get revivals of these musicals as well.

Right now- Going back to Jesus Christ Superstar for a moment and showing you the kind of perennial interest in it, right now it's having a revival on the West End in London, and we've got Sam Ryder.

Now this is a man who came second in Eurovision.

He's basically done the best for Britain than we've had in Eurovision for probably twenty years.

As you say, the Andre Junior and Princess.

Um, Ella Eyre and her friend, and Sam Ryder and his-

I love Sam Ryder, so, yeah.
