Um, but again, you get two overseas every year.

So I guess if you've got the sort of a top five of, of Ben Compton, Zak Crawley, Sam Northeast, Tuan de Mey, um, and then a wicketkeeper/batter like Chris Benjamin, you know, and then have some good fast bowling overseas, you know, that you-- I could see that recipe working for them in Division 1 and, and, and we'll, we'll have to find out 'cause unless they can sign some really good quicks over the winter, I'm not sure who's out of contract or who may be coming through their ranks.

And of course, um, a friend of the show, Betty Foreman, if he could become, maybe emerge as a, as a spin bowling option and a, and a good all-round bat, I think that could be a really, again, a real key to their success in the future.

I think Kent got, yeah, a lot of, a lot of positives to take from that.

I think- As much as Zak Crawley's a, an often memed England opener, the reality is, is, you know, someone like him being back in their fold all year round is a massive difference.

And, and then, you know, Ben Compton has been one of the most consistent opening batters.

They've got Sam Northeast back, Daniel Bell-Drummond, Tuan de Mey.

That's a really seriously good top five.

Um, you know, and that's, I think it's come out today that Simon Cook is stepping down as, as director of cricket, and he's got a lot of stick on certain club forums about his, his performances and what he's done.

But the recruitment he did, bringing in Sam Northeast was a bit of a masterstroke 'cause Sam, Sam scored some really vital runs in that, in that running on tough wickets.

Canterbury wickets aren't easy to, to score on.

Um, you know, I don't think anyone scored, anyone got 1,000 runs for, for Kent this year.

... you've gotta, you've gotta score.

If you're not s- not scoring those runs, um, you know, it's, it's gonna, it's gonna make it very difficult.

And so those young batters, they also need, they do need some experienced dotted amongst them to help them through tough times and, you know, like Sam Northeast with w- w- here at Kent.

He, he just knew when he needed to grind it through and, and then when he was in, he had that mindset, "Okay, I'm scoring today." And so, so there's, there's clearly there'll be some talent down at Hampshire, but it's then that guidance out in the middle-

Uh, there were people calling for his head, and his recruitment has been absolutely spot on.

I think, uh, the recruitment of Matt Milns, and I think the recruitment of Sam Northeast, and having a fit Keith Dudgeon as well, has been an absolute masterstroke, and he's sort of added that experience.

I think Daniel Bell-Drummond is an outstanding captain.

He's innovative.

You won't do any better than that as a top five.
