Sam Lowes

This was the 20-lap race.

And on the first lap, Buhliger led Sam Lowes and Aquona through turn one.

Sam Lowes did get a good start off the grid, and he almost passed Buhliger on turn one, but Buhliger shut the door.

Very defensive.

It stayed pretty static until lap six.

And then Bautista had his sights firmly set on trying to pass his teammate Montella into fourth place.

And by lap 17, Bautista pushed past Montella in turn to take fourth place, which was quite an aggressive move from Bautista at the inside of Montella.

And then on the last lap, it finished as Buhliger winning, Sam Lowes with a crack in second, Laquona in third.

But Iker Lekwona struggled a little bit at the start of the weekend, and then on Sunday in the Super Bowl race on race two, back to where he should be, which is finishing second.

But the battle between Lekwona and Sam Lowes at the start of the weekend, that was a big talking point, really, because it looked like there was a scalp to be had for Sam.

And in race one, I think he rode probably the best race we've seen from him.

He celebrated that one like he had whenever he won races around Jerez.

And Jake Dixon secured his best Superpole result in qualifying in seventh.

So the full rundown of the qualifying order, Bouliger, Laquona, Alex Lowes, Soura, Olivera, Montella, Dixon, Bassani, Baldessari, and then Sam Lowes.

Another pole for Bouliger again.

Yeah, he keeps working the magic.

Good result for Dixon in eighth.

Baldessari in ninth.

Sam Lowes, tenth.

Alex Lowes, just behind him, in eleventh.

Fucking before I know it landed flat on my back, deployed, on my knees.

I had some spectacular teammates, which didn't make my life easy.

Like when I was racing at Astro Kawasaki, like Sam Lowes was, like he was, he was the star of the show, you know-

And, um, I think that, um, yeah, that's what set them apart.

And, and like I said, risk, there was one moment in time when I was doing British Supersport, so I think it would've been about 2010, something like that, and I think it was, mm, 2009.

It was the year Sam Lowes actually won British Supersport.

And I was lining up a pass on someone, um, around Chris Curve, and he came around the outside of both, but he actually scared me.

I mean, and he's, yeah, he's fourth in the championship with all those a mi- a million Ducatis around.

Would that not be a nice reward for them to try and get themselves onto the podium in, uh, you know, in the final round of the year? You look at, uh, Sam Lowes, he had a terrible weekend.

There's obviously a lot going on inside the Marc VDS camp and he, he, you know, but it was a big surprise for him to be that bad.

Maybe he needs to get a, a triple podium performance at Jerez to, to bring himself back to...

[laughs] Um, before we get out of here, uh, w- we got a couple of things to talk about.

But let, you know, let's talk about Sam, Sam Lowes, 'cause he g- he filled in for Taka Nakagami who was, uh, broke a collarbone.

Uh, not quite a violent crash, but it was pretty violent, I mean, unfortunately.

And, and so he's out.

And, uh, and Sam Lowes had had a third place in race one.
