um but we digress uh you mentioned then sammy sodics um you've had bertha diaz you've had adam armstrong i there always seems to be somebody with blackburn another who just hits a purple patch and so you know it comes in as the season of the career if you like and you know we are the other end of that scale i've not had someone's got 20 goals for since 2001 but Blackburn is sort of the people to look for if you want your superstar strikers
M
3:44MarkGUEST
well yeah it's been a crazy one really I think last season was the first time I don't recall it happening but prior to that you're absolutely right so we had with Danny Graham we had Bradley Dyke then Adam Armstrong stepped up it always seems when you lose that talisman if you like right where are the goals coming from somebody else stepped up and it was never Sam Gallagher so I always feel your pain with that one But yeah, it's I think slightly different with Rodrigo Johnson, because we saw glimpses of him last year where you thought, actually, this boy's got something.
M
4:17MarkGUEST
He's very clinical.
M
4:19MarkGUEST
He's very much in the right place at the right time.

We need his energy.

and obviously that's i mean that's saying unless we potentially saved sam gallagher for this game

I really wish we did.

They've obviously got the absolutely, I'm going to be careful what I say because I'm going to jinx this, but the absolutely terrifying attacking duo of Sam Gallagher and George Hurst.
M

But listen, we're at home in the championship.

West Brom avoid London prices | Second Tier Review

Lamine Cissé is out till Christmas, who's the busiest player, but I don't think he's any more clinical personally than what Hurst could be, what Bojnik may be.
L
61:12Lucas YeomansHOST
Sam Gallagher, if he's fit, maybe he can be that player, but it's if he's fit, it's when he's fit, I think is the main issue.
L
61:19Lucas YeomansHOST
But I have to say, Jack McGlynn's movement for the second goal, I think his understanding already with Ethan Galbraith is really nice as well.
L
61:25Lucas YeomansHOST
And I'm just going to throw this one out there, having been at the game.
Match Review: Stoke 2-0 Preston
M
7:47Michael StockleyHOST
So obviously I'd rather have a Cissé because he doesn't stop, and I think that really helps you, especially in certain games.
M
7:53Michael StockleyHOST
But obviously then you can flip that on its head and say that that opens up opportunity for, again, a Hurst, a Bosnick, Gallagher, who will be back.
M
8:04Michael StockleyHOST
whether they'll risk him before the next international break, I'm not sure, but it opens up opportunities, mate.
M
8:11Michael StockleyHOST
And I think they're going to have to take it because I expect that, you know, neither, well, none of them are prolific.
7 MINS LATER
M
15:09Michael StockleyHOST
it was exactly what we talked about we wanted to happen really wasn't it for the preview we controlled the game completely we could have scored 5 or 6 on another day if we would have been a bit more clinical and for me yeah obviously the main question was was he going to be Bosnick was he going to be Bosnick and Hurst I think Boz, from the very beginning, actually, I think he was physical.
M
15:36Michael StockleyHOST
He was winning those cheap free kicks I referred to in the preview.
M
15:40Michael StockleyHOST
He was winning those moments, and that's what he offers versus what probably any other striker other than Gallagher can offer.
M
15:48Michael StockleyHOST
So, yeah, a complete dominant performance, really.

Maybe by the time this comes out, we'll know the answer.
M
26:06Michael StockleyHOST
I would have liked to have heard more about where the likes of Sam Gallagher is.
M
26:10Michael StockleyHOST
I know he's not going to be like a massive runner like Cissé is, but that's because we don't really have another one.
M
26:18Michael StockleyHOST
But I do think Gallagher's a lot more mobile than Hurst is.
M
26:22Michael StockleyHOST
I definitely say that from everything I've seen.
M
26:26Michael StockleyHOST
His quality is a given.
M
26:28Michael StockleyHOST
So I think they said two or three weeks, and that has got to be at least three weeks ago.
M
26:33Michael StockleyHOST
So if he comes back in, for me, I think if he's fit, Gallagher comes back in.

But yeah, I think we've also, to be fair to him, we have got some decent strikers in the squad at the minute, but...
D
15:49Dan GaterHOST
One of them just can't stay fit in Sam Gallagher.
D
15:51Dan GaterHOST
He's always injured, as he is currently.
D
15:54Dan GaterHOST
But we've also got Bosnick, and I think...
D
16:16Dan GaterHOST
I think that might be quite a nice partnership.
D
16:18Dan GaterHOST
But yeah, I feel like now...
D
16:21Dan GaterHOST
With Cissé potentially being out for a while and Sam Gallagher, God knows when he's returning, I feel like now it's Bosnick's turn to really step up and, fingers crossed, if he gets a good run of games together, he might get his place in the starting line-up, to be honest with you, mate.
T
16:39TonyHOST
I kind of I agree with you that Hurst I think Hurst was brought to be played with with wingers if you look at his goals a lot of his goals are from crosses that come in the box and he arrives onto them or you know or he gets his head on or whatever a lot of his goals are sort of based based on that sort of route in the past and I kind of think that that's That was the plan.
No Hugging Please
L

It wasn't quite that.
L
8:12Lucas YeomansHOST
I feel like if Sam Gallagher hadn't scored, not the same, it wasn't the same goal, but a similar risk, half-volley sort of thing, control on its way down.
L
8:22Lucas YeomansHOST
with the goal of the month from September.
L

And I feel like this wouldn't have sort of been as like, this would have been a bit more, oh, wow.
