S
35:27SophieHOST
And, and I think that's, that's sort of interesting.
S
35:29SophieHOST
I mean, you've still got, um, Phil Salt, um, Adil Rashid, you know, Ollie Pope, Jamie Overton, Dan Lawrence, Matty Fisher, um, Liam Dawson, um, Sam Cook, good old Essex boy there.
S
35:43SophieHOST
There's not many Essex boys in the side, to be fair.
S
35:45SophieHOST
Um, who've, who've...
Winter draws on...
D
13:42Don TopleyGUEST
He does.
D
13:44Don TopleyGUEST
Because Sam Cook now has got a Central England contract, which the good news is, that's personally great news for him, but it comes with a caveat that England will tell Essex when Cook can be used.
D
14:01Don TopleyGUEST
And you often find these guys don't play two championship fixtures in succession.
D
14:07Don TopleyGUEST
So the same with Cox, but Cox is different because he's a batter, and you might find batters play a little bit more frequently.
D
14:16Don TopleyGUEST
Uh, maybe not after a long winter's tour, or tours as they are today, and he is a four, a three-formatted player.
D
14:25Don TopleyGUEST
Sam Cook will be just red ball, but they will look to look after him because England will need a, um, stable set of bowlers.
D
14:36Don TopleyGUEST
Sam Cook was also quite tired.
D
14:38Don TopleyGUEST
Jamie Cl- Jamie, uh, Porter looked knackered, and so did Shane Snater.
The Never Ending Story...
R
16:45Richard ClarkeGUEST
Had that not happened, had he not played at all, we might have gone down.
R
16:49Richard ClarkeGUEST
Also, the other thing we've got to work out is where we are with England as well, because Sam Cook being hauled out of, I think it was the Sussex game.
R
16:58Richard ClarkeGUEST
That's right, yeah.
R
16:59Richard ClarkeGUEST
The second innings, you know...
Pollock Joins Nas & Ath: Australia Return to South Africa After ‘Sandpapergate’.
M
5:06Michael AthertonHOST
But I mean, they've got Ollie Robinson there at the moment.
M
5:09Michael AthertonHOST
They, they'll, they'll always kind of have one of those fellas in the mix-up, won't they? Whether it's O- Ollie Robinson or Sam Cook, who seems to be kind of Robinson's understudy at the moment.
M
5:20Michael AthertonHOST
So you could see Bamber maybe in that role, but I wouldn't, uh, have thought so, uh, right now.
M
5:27Michael AthertonHOST
But I mean, it's an amazing story.
22 MINS LATER
S
27:24Shaun PollockGUEST
Mm.
M
27:24Michael AthertonHOST
Um, Ollie Robinson obviously brilliant.
M
27:27Michael AthertonHOST
Is that something when England are considering Ethan Bamber, Sam Cook, you could do? And is it something South Africa will consider against England with obviously Root and Brook, uh, having their difficulties with the keeper up?
S
27:39Shaun PollockGUEST
Yeah.

S

Have you heard anything? Do you reach out?
C
5:12Craig OvertonGUEST
No, I haven't heard anything.
C
5:13Craig OvertonGUEST
Um, haven't heard anything since I sort of left the side sort of '22, '23 time.
C
5:16Craig OvertonGUEST
Um, so, but I'm not sort of that one to sort of go out and look for it.
County Championship Division 1 Update Show (Weeks 13-14)
S
17:44speaker_0HOST
I guess it makes sense.
S
17:45speaker_0HOST
It's a weird one because I literally couldn't really consider who would be their replacement unless it went to someone like, I guess it would be Sam Cook.
S
17:52speaker_0HOST
But again, he's been doing English stuff.
S
17:53speaker_0HOST
So who knows who will be his sort of succession in that sense.
20 MINS LATER
S
37:56speaker_0HOST
Yeah, 43, average of 28.
S
37:59speaker_0HOST
Just exactly what you get from Tim Vactor-Hookton, but it's a super valuable thing to get.
S
38:03speaker_0HOST
Sam Cooke, another one consistent always know what you're going to get with him and then crocombe had a big year for sussex and he's off to surrey next year having had that huge year and that is all for the county chat sort of episode of the the roundup episode if you will maybe the the final update show depending on your look at it um i think we might do a little award show for division one and division two so beyond just what we've done here but i might make some sort of funnier awards um funnier but you know what i mean um um alternative awards maybe it should be the phrase i think that video will be coming in a couple of weeks time uh we'll do the same obviously episode for division two so make sure you look out for that in the next few days that will be coming out and being recorded pretty darn soon and again with the leicestershire stuff i think i'm going to keep on that because i think that will be very interesting to see how that plays out i can imagine that won't happen very quickly i think it's a big decision to be made if i'm honest and i think it's a it's a As I say, kind of a big point of issue, and I'm interested to see how it goes.
S

Anyway, thank you very much for watching.
